Vernon Richter
Vernon Richter is a native of San Antonio, Texas and began playing trumpet in Houston at the age of eleven. His formal education in trumpet began in 1984 at East Texas State University (currently Texas A&M Commerce) as a Music Performance Major. While at ETSU, he was awarded numerous awards and had the opportunity to perform for International Trumpet Soloist Anthony Plog and to perform with local jazz legend Rodney Booth in concert. Vernon was awarded Outstanding Senior at ETSU in 1988. Vernon has been fortunate to study with some of the finest teachers in the area including Conrad Bauschka (ETSU), Bert Truax (former Dallas Symphony Orchestra), and James Simms (freelance musician).
Vernon currently is arguably one of the areas busiest private lesson teachers with a studio of over 85 students from Argyle ISD, Denton ISD, Frisco ISD and Lewisville ISD. His students regularly achieve high positions in the region, area, and State levels of competition on a yearly basis. He is in demand for teaching master classes at the middle and high school level throughout the northeast region of Texas. Vernon works as an instructor with Williamson Music 1 st production of “T4 Music Mentor”, an on-line video based “how-to” program for beginning trumpet playing.
Vernon has performed with the Richardson Symphony, East Texas Symphony, Lewisville Symphony and Flower Mound Symphony. Vernon is also active as a freelance musician in the DFW area. Vernon is a founding member of the Center Stage Brass.
